Lucie Sedláčková is a comic artist, set designer, and copywriter. The project "Zavařeniny" (Preserves) began in 2020 and is a continuous extension of an initial impulse—to illustrate the mental processes of a person with a personality disorder. Lucie approaches this challenging topic in a playful manner, encapsulating all thoughts, situations, and emotions into short comic stories, which she metaphorically seals in jars, filling up her "mental pantry." By naming and "preserving" her feelings in this way, Lucie has gained a deeper understanding of how personality disorders affect her and those around her.


Lucie shares her drawings on her Instagram page and other platforms, where others in similar situations confide in her with their stories. She then translates their experiences into comic form and shares them with the public. The project has much greater potential, as these short strips will eventually evolve into a more comprehensive comic book, which Lucie is currently working on.


The intention remains the same: to destigmatize, to talk about the unspoken and uncomfortable, to heal old (both personal and collective) wounds, and to avoid creating new ones.
