Artist, cartoonist, technician, graphic designer, glider pilot and above all comic cartoonist František Kobík belonged to a generation of artists whose artistic expression was represented by high quality of craftsmanship. The author of the now-famous stories—from the Yellow Planet, The Revolt of the Brains, Expedition to the Lost World and many others—represents an unmistakable phenomenon of the adventure and science fiction genre in the field of Czechoslovak comics of the second half of the 20th century. This year marks the 90th anniversary of František Kobík's birth.


The traditional KOMA Call challenge has been accepted by leading Czech comics artists, namely Ticho 762, Kamila Brůčková, Nikola Logosová, Marie Butula Cichá, Filip Zatloukal, Klára Štefanovičová, Ondřej Malina, Markéta Rokoská and Eva Jaroňová, who decided to pay tribute to this legend of the comics genre in their own distinctive way.
