Did you know that Moses stuttered? And that he had a brother Aaron who went with him to Pharaoh to negotiate the release of the Jews from Egyptian slavery? Together, Moses and Aaron performed miraculous phenomena - known as the plagues of Egypt. Can you name them? All ten? These plagues were to induce Pharaoh to give the Jewish people their freedom. This eventually happened, and the Jews, under Moses' leadership, wandered in the desert for 40 years before reaching the Promised Land. And Aaron was his spokesman. But that's another story.
Kakalík is an artist, illustrator and animator. He is the author and co-creator of the animated series Pribehy umenia s profesorom Škrečkom (F&K, RTVS, 2019) and the children's series Skobičiny (r. M. Procházková, ČT, 2019), author of the comic book Mouse Broth /2014), artist and creator of the publications Chicken (Kakalík, 2015), Sticks in the Gallery (GR, 2017), Why Art (MUS, 2019), music videos (Jablkoň, DoctorPP), jingles (Stream. cz, Prima Cool) or campaigns for the non-profit sector (Festival of New Theatre Malá inventura, Scholastika, Artpark Galerie Rudolfinum, Do you have an artistic gut?, 4 Days in Motion, Action Brick, etc.). He is also the author of graphic and audiovisual works for other organizations and companies (Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, Prague 10 Municipality). For JCC Prague, in addition to the project Moses, are we there yet ? He has also created animated videos for Jewish holidays (Chanukah potato cake, Haman's ears, Macískovi and Apple in honey) and is the author of the visuals for Jan Fingerland's j-cast.
Pavlína Šulcová is behind the projects Moses, are we there yet?, Nebojte se gefilte fiš, Pre-cooked Bible and j-cast. She also co-wrote the scripts for animated videos about Jewish holidays. In 2018-2019, she was the executive director of the 14th Prague Quadrennial. During her previous tenure at the Czech Center Tel Aviv, she developed the center's programming concept. She has initiated and/or produced a number of independent Czech-Israeli art projects. As a photographer, she created the documentary series The Wingmen: the story of Czechoslovak pilots and aircraft mechanics in the service of the State of Israel (2015). Her other projects include Tell Me What You're Eating, Tel Aviv Street Life, Be Our Guest and the blog FromTelAviv.com.
