This book was written during the entrance examination for the Master's degree program in Illustration and Graphic Arts at the University of Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design. The assignment was to create a detective story. Lesson UMPRUM is an attempt to capture the genius loci of a place where students spend so much time that it begins to grow on them.

Barbora Satranská (*1997) is studying in the studio of illustration and graphic design at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague. Her books Hospodský, průvodčí, truhlář, cukrářka, farář, vitrážista, řezník, restaurátor a sociální pracovnice (2020) and Spořilov (2021) won the Muriel Awards for the best student comics of the year. She enjoys finding things and collecting or capturing them. She hikes and falls asleep early.
